The Italo-Albanian association 'Insieme' and the 'Creative Dialogue' present 'Albania: Rosso e Noir': a party for the 106 years of Albania's independence - which will be held in Udine on December 1 - with professor Lucia Nadin, the writer Darien Levani and the concert of the Iliria art group.
Saturday 1 December in Udine will celebrate the 106 years of the independence of Albania, at the Auditorium Madrassi of Via Gemona 66.
At 17: 45 the event will open with a debate on the integration of ancient and recent Albanian communities in Italy, a mix of cultures that started many centuries ago, along with two exceptional guests: Professor Lucia Nadin, one of the major experts of Albania in our country, recently awarded by the Albanian Academy of Sciences for its work "Albania found" dedicated to the national hero Scanderbeg, on the occasion of the 550 years after his death, and the writer and lawyer Darien Levani, born in Fratar (Albania) in the 1982 that lives in Italy from the 2000.
The writer Levani will present his latest book "Toringrad", for Spartaco Editore. Leading the debate, Elisa Cozzarini, journalist and writer, is one of the curators of the Pordenone cultural review "The creative dialogue".
Afterwards, the concert of the Iliria artistic group, a formation whose members, around a dozen, interpret traditional Albanian dances and music. Their concerts are now numerous both in Veneto and in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
The foreign citizens regularly present in Friuli Venezia Giulia are 106.652, the 8,8% of the resident population. A third of foreigners residing in the region originate from only two countries: Romania and Albania and the second largest nationality, after the Romanian one, is Albanian, with 10.660 people, based on Istat data of 1 January 2018, to which they escape but the numbers of the many citizens of Albanian origin with Italian nationality.
The event stems from the collaboration between the Italo-Albanian association Insieme, as part of the "Dialogando" project and the "Creative dialogue" exhibition, and is carried out thanks to the partnership of the Municipality of Udine and the contribution of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region , for which Fabrizio Cigolot, Councilor for Culture and European Projects of the Municipality of Udine will be present.
Admission is free while seats last.
The celebrations will end with refreshments by appointment only at the Casa della Contadinanza at the Castle of Udine.
