The theme of this edition will be 'Food education: the culture of taste'. In the foreground, obviously the promotion of the Mediterranean Diet, already registered by the 2010 among the Unesco Intangible Heritage.
The main themes of the various events, which involve the various consular offices and the Italian Cultural Institutes in the world, are the relationship between food and health, agro-food sustainability, food security, the right to food, biodiversity.
The Italian brand
Continuing the experience begun in Milan Expo 2015, the 'Week' directly involves public and private actors, therefore not only institutions but also companies and academics of the agro-food sector, to promote the Italianness of the food chain, enhanced by DOC labels and DOP (with an analysis of the phenomenon of food counterfeiting of the made in Italy).
The eno-gastronomic traditions of the Italian regions will be promoted for tourism purposes and, in particular, the accent will be placed on the recognition, obtained in July 2019, a new Unesco Heritage of the 'Hills of Prosecco of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene'.
Obviously, the network of collaborations at the international level of the various cooking schools in Italy and in the world is not neglected, so that the schools are the first promoters, among the new generations of future chefs, of the culture of the original food product made in Italy.
The Week of Italian Cuisine in Albania
The Italian Embassy in Tirana has already presented the calendar of scheduled events since 11 November. Indeed, in Albania the 'week' includes two additional days, for which the 26 day will end.
The 11 November was opened, and will remain open until November 21 at the Castello di Tirana, the AICS Tirana exhibition 'Italy Tells', 16 works inspired by the great artists of the Italian Renaissance.
But the topics of Italian-Albanian cooperation in the field of food and agriculture will also be discussed, which have enhanced, during 10 years, some typical products of the agro-food of Albania from the areas of Scutari, Malësi and Madhe , Gjirokastra and Përmet.
It will be possible to follow the whole calendar of events thanks to the hashtag #ItalianTaste and the 'The extraordinary Italian taste' logo, created by the Italian System in Albania.
