About 600 restaurants of the Albanian diaspora - with Albanian owners or managed by Albanians - were reported by diplomatic representatives to be made available to exporting companies and agribusiness associations in Albania.
The purpose of this initiative - within the framework of economic diplomacy - is to expand as much as possible the potential for exporting the Albanian product.
The event organized by the ministries of culture and foreign affairs
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, together with the Foreign Ministry, organized an event to promote the Albanian product to the countries of the diaspora.
Niko Peleshi stated that Albanian agriculture has made progress, especially in the export sector, which in total has recorded an increase in 14%:
"However, export continues to remain a challenge that is not easy to deal with and requires a union of intra-ministerial forces.
For this reason, this restaurant database will be made available to Albanian producers, so that they have easier access to the European market. "- underlined Minister Peleshi.
The minister also announced that in parallel with this initiative, there is a collaboration aimed at improving the quality and marketing of Albanian products, in order to strengthen all the elements that help a product to be sold in the best possible way on the market.
"We are building a network of incubators, which means small laboratories in rural areas aimed at the standard production of typical high quality Albanian products; a project that we are approving, together with the bills on typical products, in compliance with the European Union legislation."- concluded Peleshi.
Statements by the foreign minister
Even the foreign minister, Ditmir Bushati, wanted to deepen the project:
"The second step, after identifying the restaurants, will be the channeling of all the energies so that the exported Albanian products, or a part of them, end up in these restaurants.
Another important element related to the promotion of this product is closely linked to the incentive system offered by the Albanian government, or by the EU itself. "- said Bushati.
Very soon this project will be finalized with an application called 'Albanian Flavors', in which Albanian products will be presented.
