He is Fatmir Mura, one of the best known and most surprising Albanian artists in the world. I got to know him and spend a day with him seeing him at work and trying to understand how to draw with sand freehand, the material that Fatmir uses to create his own works.
Fatmir Mura has his own laboratory in Florence, where he works and teaches his art even to the little ones, who have the good fortune unlike him who is a self-taught person to learn from someone. But it was not always like this, this success of his is the result of years and years of hard work, of dreams set aside and sacrifices.
Today thanks to art, to his work, Fatmir has conquered the stages and squares of half of Europe and not only, performing in large conferences, in public events and on television, but remaining always humble and down to earth, from true artist.
Biography of Fatmir Mura
Born in Vlora, in Albania, the 4 January 1976.
Fatmir Mura immediately developed a great passion for music and studied accordion until adolescence.
From 1994 he moved to Athens, Greece and here he began a real and complete artistic training. In fact, in these years, Fatmir studies theater, Latin American dance, pantomime. Still in Greece he finally faces the world of magic and illusionism.
It is love immediately, and it is at this point that he decides to move to Italy to follow his destiny.
The accumulated experiences and the acquired abilities are his baggage. The need to convey emotions is the characteristic that unites each artist. He has finally found the means that are most congenial to him.
In 2009 he returns to Albania, as a pioneer of the pantomime genre show and wins the prestigious Talent Show Top Channel.
His shows of dance, illusionism and magic with soap bubbles are poetry, but it is when he faces the world of the art of drawing with sand that he really finds his personal expressive point.
In the 2011 presents "Save The World", one man show; on the stage only he, water and sand. It's success.
An extremely suggestive show that offers interesting reflections on the importance of respecting nature.
The list of experiences of Fatmir is long and multi-faceted.
Today Fatmir, never tired of having new experiences, has undoubtedly come to be a mature artist and expresses all his poetry in his suggestive and ephemeral shows with sand.
From the hands of Fatmir, with a handful of sand, silent poems come out, accompanied by evocative and engaging notes of music. The magic of this artist transports us to fantastic worlds that are born, evolve and transform in the time of a song.
