The old adage "Woman at the wheel, constant danger" has long been a false myth already supplanted by the statistics on the roads of half the world. Because what was called "Fair sex" would represent driving safety more than men, according to the data coming from accidents, but also from the observations of traffic psychologists.
For many years now, driving has been nothing more than male for most countries in the world. The same is also true for Albania where, according to data from the Albanian Institute of Statistics (Instat), more and more women take their license year after year.
But what is the Albanian district that has granted more driving licenses to women? The answer always comes from the national statistical institute and - as reported by Albanian Daily News - it is not the capital Tirana, only third in this special ranking.
The Instat data
The district of Durres has granted more driving licenses to women in the 2018 in relation to the population. In the coastal city, in fact, last year 22 women each 1000 took their driving license.
Followed by the district of Lezhë (Alessio), with 19 licensed women each 1000 in the 2018, that of the capital Tirana, with 17 "female" licenses each 1000 released in the 2018, and that of Scutari, with 16 patent each 1000 women in the 2018. The district of Elbasan is more detached, with 12 licenses issued for each 1000 women.
In total, 20.051 licenses issued to women in the 2018, up from the 19.444 driving licenses issued in the 2017. However, the gap between women and men taking the driving license continues to remain very high.
Also last year, according to estimates by the National Statistical Institute (Instat), 48.607 were the "male" driving licenses issued, which is more than double those of women.
