For a few hours, "Woman of the Year 2014" was chosen.
Of Elona Kaca
Suela Lala was born in Burrel, Mat the 5 April 1983. Among all her peers, already at a pre-adolescent age she stood out for her ethical and civil sense that would have accompanied her throughout her life.
He has always loved literature and languages that would have allowed him to dye his many horizons with new knowledge. Life is often made up of challenges, some very difficult to understand and interpret for a girl of 14 years.
In the infamous 1997 year, Suela was seriously injured by a stray bullet that would later mark her future, forcing her to live with the help of a wheelchair, and perhaps even changed the course of a life already planned on the tracks of excellence .
As often happens, it's up to us to choose who we want to be and how we want to live.
And Suela has chosen life, a life of battles. He is able to study at a distance and graduate in England in Law, he is currently pursuing a Master's degree at the Faculty of Law of the University of Tirana.
He works for years with the Foundation for the Rights of the Disabled, collaborates with various associations and works on many projects.
It is part of two very important international campaigns for the disarming of populations. We see it while giving a speech to the United Nations, arguing precisely the importance of disarmament. He is currently part of the ICAN movement ( International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons).
And not just battles! Suela is one of the founders of the first social enterprise in Albania, the bar "E Jona", which sees various disabled people being employed in this beautiful adventure, most of whom are girls and women.
In addition to a curriculum full of victories, successes and passions followed by Suela Lala, there is the merit of having become the example to follow.
The example that, in countries like Albania, is either lacking or makes so much effort to stand out naturally, in a reality made up of corruption, silence and so much blindness.
She is an example of courage, civilization, elegance and altruism. In a world of insecurities and many injustices Suela comes with such a noble mission: the right to life and the right to dignity!
If during this journey called Life the quality of the memory that is left is important, surely Suela Lala has been able to engrave her imprint in the Albanian society.
