On the occasion of the 550 years since the death of the hero Giorgio Castriota Scanderbeg, the Academy of Sciences has awarded the works dedicated to the Albanian national hero, both in Albanian and in foreign languages.
Among the 30 works chosen for this competition organized by the Academy of Sciences, they were winners Lucia Nadin e Aurel Plasari. The first was awarded for the best work or documentary ('L'Albania ritrovata') in a foreign language:
“I thank Albania, which has always honored me in these 25 years of work. I am proud to continue to treat cultural Albania and the history of this fantastic country. " - said Lucia Nadin.
Aurel Plasari, on the other hand, was awarded for the best work or documentary in the Albanian language, thanks to his 'Scanderbeg, a political story'. Among the numerous guests at the awards ceremony, there was also Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The Venetian researcher Lucia Nadin has spent many years in Albania teaching and doing research. Published The Statutes of Scutari bringing it to light from the library of the Venetian museum: a 'monument' of the medieval history of Albania.
He reconstructed the phenomenon of Albanian emigration in the Veneto provinces between the 15th and 16th century with the book Migration and integration. The case of the Albanians in Venice (1479-1552). Furthermore, he studied the iconographic tradition of Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg on the ship of the Duke of Venice, the famous Bucintoro.
He is currently working on the migration of Catholic religious to Venetian lands between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, in relation to the purchase of works of art. In 2010 she was given honorary citizenship from the city of Scutari.

Plasari, born in Tirana, started publishing for only 17 years, while he was still in high school. After completing compulsory military service, he began working as a literary editor for the magazine 'Nëntori'. He has been a lecturer and PhD student at the Faculty of History and Philology of the University of Tirana.
From 1990 to 2014 he has been involved in national and international scientific and academic activities, holding conferences and participating in the USA, Kosovo, Italy, France, Spain, Romania, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia and Macedonia.
Also, among the 1993 the 1997 was director of the cultural magazine 'Hylli i Dritës'. In the field of cultural activities he has led some international juries. In the 2012, for example, he was a member of the interministerial committee for the 100th anniversary of the celebration of Albanian independence.
