While the question concerning the National Theater has been going on for more than two months, it will soon be the turn of the national history museum to undergo a profound reconstruction, in order to be rehabilitated and thus become more attractive to foreign and non-foreign visitors.
The announcement was made by Culture Minister Mirela Kumbaro, who reiterated the importance of meeting the generations of the 21 century. Since its construction, in fact, in the 1981, the museum has never been restored degenerating over the years.
"A reconstruction project is planned for a building that has never had any structural investment and that today lacks all the necessary conditions of a public cultural institution."- wrote Minister Kumbaro in a post on Facebook.
It is therefore implicit that the minister refers to a more dynamic museum that adapts to the reconstruction of Piazza Scanderbeg, where the building is located.
The project includes a reception, digital screens, souvenir shops, coffee bars and interactive digital modules, and was presented by the architect Olsi Eftimiu, who also participated in the projects of ArTurbina and the national theater of opera and ballet .
However, both Minister Kumbaro and the museum director, Arta Dollani, have stated that there is still no definitive project, since the ministry of culture and the museum are still working 20 experts to better examine the building and to be able to take so a decision on the best project.
What is certain is that the new museum will be a contemporary and educational museum to teach everyone the history of Albania.
"The museum will have a different presentation with digital platforms; the staff will explain in advance what you will visit to ensure that anyone can decide to visit what interests them most.
The cost of this project is 13 million. The restoration will take place through phases, which will never foresee the complete closure of the museum. "- said the director of the museum, Arta Dollani.
