After the emergency of Covid-19, which hit the city of Verona hard, this multidisciplinary project, which will take place on the occasion of the solar eclipse scheduled for June 21, will take place through the emotional encounter of different arts, which will join the center of the Arena.
In this metaphorical lockdown represented precisely by the eclipse, cinema, painting and music they come together to represent the vital force of man, who knows how to react to the adversities of life and manages to give new forms to the idea of the future.
The artistic performance
A video made in two versions, one extended 5/7 minutes, the second 2/3 minutes. This, in summary, the idea behind the performance, an artistic work of a total size of about 400 square meters, from which about 250 pieces will be obtained.
Exciting and particular is the fact that the performance will take place in an empty Arena, with the filming directed by cameras and drones alternately, to ensure a multifocal view.
Cinema, painting and music are the three arts at the service of man for his rebirth after the emotional lockdown generated by the unexpected event of the eclipse.
Protagonists of the realization of the performance, which will take place in two parts on the days of 21 and 22 June, Are Agron Hoti, Albanian and Italian visual artist by adoption, Benny Benassi, record producer and famous international DJ (who, for the occasion, will collaborate with the famous Italian producer and pianist Dardust), And Gianluca Magnoni, director, author and producer.
The live set
The Albanian painter and sculptor Agron Hoti will lay a huge square white canvas on the sand of the Arena, which will then be covered in black to obtain a clear sphere in the center to contrast it.
Here is the visual eclipse of the Arena, the one that gives the title to the event and that will be the 'twin' of the astronomical one scheduled for day 21, the first day of summer.
Then the lights will come back on in the Arena, in a performance that will combine music and contemporary painting.
Who is Agron Hoti
Born in 1970, Agron Hoti discovered his inclination to art as a boy, unfortunately hampered by the well-known difficulties of communist Albania.
In January 1992 he arrived in Greece and stayed there for 10 years, refining his technique and managing to have his own laboratory, focused on Byzantine art.
Then the arrival in Italy in 2001 and a new artistic life in Verona, now his second home. It is the definitive affirmation, not only in Italy but also in the rest of the world, from New York to Shanghai.
The EXXTRA performance
In 2019 Agron gives birth to EXXTRA, one of the greatest abstract works ever made.
Conceived for “The night of the Kings”- charity sporting event that he had brought back to the field too the eighth king of Rome, the very famous footballer Francesco Totti- and exhibited at the Foro Italico in Rome on 2 June 2019, football turns into a work of art.
Spectacularly, as this shows video of the realizationAgron has recreated on 800 square meters (the real size of a football field) a maxi-square stained with art.
After the exhibition, the work was fragmented and resold in an auction held by Christie's, the proceeds of which were donated to charity.
