"If you want to know the reality of Nature you have to destroy the appearance and the more you distance yourself from appearance, the closer you get to existence" Master Eckhart
Suspended between East and West with a fascinating nature and a millenary culture, Albania - today a country in strong expansion - presents itself to the International Fair of Turin, a springboard for emerging artists. Among the many artists who will participate, there are also four Albanian artists: Iva Lulashi, Edson Luli, Lala Meredith-Vula and Agron Hoti.
The fil rouge of the twenty-fifth edition of the Fair is "time" ( Time is on our side - Time is on our side) intended not as a static crystallization of memory and celebration, but proposed as a dynamic flow, capable of impressing the rhythm of change, preserving the temporal suspension of the emotion of the work of art.
The Art Gallery of Milan "Prometheus”Is proposed with the Albanian artist Iva Lulashi; 7 works of the " Eroticommunism”, Which bring erotic images of an Albanian story told through the stories of her mother, her father's occasional paintings, some rediscovered photographs and a few childhood memories. The artist delves into the social and collective memory of Albania and presents with great courage the eros in art that still today gives rise to malice.
VAT lives and works in Milan. She graduated fromAcademy of Fine Arts of Venice. He has exhibited his work on several occasions such as at the Mediterranean Biennale and at the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana. Various awards have been recognized in Italy, Austria and Albania.
Another Albanian author presented by the same Gallery is Edson Luli, born in Shkodër who lives and works in Milan. He also carries out a continuous investigation into the existence of being and its relationship with the environment, creating a visual and verbal interaction with the process of producing images present in our daily life, in which the observer becomes the observed.
Edson Luli he completed his film studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan.
He participated in the Film Festival in Milan in the 2015, and in various world contemporary art presentations such as in Chile, Venice, Tirana and Milan.
Lala Meredith-Vula lives and works in Leicester (where she teaches at the Monfort University), in the United Kingdom, and is originally from Kosovo. It is presented by the Alberto Paola Gallery in Turin. She is an artist and photographer: curious to learn about different aspects of people's lives in the Kosovo countryside, she develops a singular interest in haystacks that sometimes seem to be animated, that are going to talk and tell their version of events. His photography is chosen in black and white, which helps to give a sense of temporal uncertainty.
He presented personal exhibitions in Turin, Scutari, Prishtina, London, Rome, Oslo, Geneva, Zagreb and in many other cities, and group exhibitions in Chicago, Athens, Brussels, London, Rome, Genoa etc.
Agron Hoti (1970), lives and works in Verona. To Artissima is presented by the Little Nemo Gallery in Turin with three works: Diabolik; Donald Duck / Donald Duck and The Avengers. Three works of collage and vinyl glue on canvas with the world of comics. He too, to express himself, uses the images that the collective memory of the photographic archives has already given to history; so he is a conceptual artist. The galaxy resides in the charm of the infinite jets of abstraction transferred with the colors on the canvases.
Hoti is the fifth winner of the 2018 Venice Biennale. He lived for 10 years in Greece working on Byzantine sculptures and icons. In Italy he joined the 2001 and established himself as an artist by exhibiting works in Turin, Milan and Venice. It is confirmed internationally in New York, Paris, Shanghai, Casablanca and Tel Aviv.
One of his works is in the German Parliament in Dusseldorf, as the only foreign author.
"The Artissima", The Turin fair edition was inaugurated at Oval Lingotto in Turin by the 0.2-04 November this year. 1000 artists, 195 galleries from 35 Countries, 8 editions and 7 Awards were presented.
